TICKETING PROCESS

A few days before the show, I entered the digital lottery through Lucky Seat. Lucky Seat lotteries are particularly amazing because you can enter for any performances that week you are able to attend. You don’t need to remember to enter every single day. At 4 PM, I received a text message notification that I had won for the next evening’s performance, which was also super helpful as I had not been checking my email as regularly as I usually do. I paid for the ticket online. Tickets were $42.50 each, plus fees.

For this show, I was in the Rear Orchestra in the second to last row, but I had a full view. I’ve had both Front Row Orchestra seats through Lucky Seat, and Rear Mezzanine seats, so it really depends on the show and the performance date.

PRODUCTION REVIEW

After leaving the theater, I felt such a wave of relief come over me that there was finally an original musical on Broadway again. Granted, Hadestown is conceptualized based on the Orephus and Eurydice myth, but it is not based on a TV show or a movie. The music was absolutely stunning, and something I would listen to apart from being in the theater. Each performance was memorable, and the production staging in such an intimate setting really added significant value to the show. This would be one of my top recommendations for musicals this season.

STAGE DOOR EXPERIENCE

Everyone was very welcoming at the stage door, accepting requests to take pictures. Amber Gray was the only member of the company who did not come out to meet audience members. At this stage door, they also regularly hand out flowers reminiscent of the poster and a frequent prop throughout the show, which was a really fun, unique touch.

STAGE DOOR LOCATION

This stage door is super accessible: make a right as you exit the theater, and it is marked accordingly.
