TICKETING PROCESS

On the morning of the show, I entered the digital lottery through TodayTix. At 3 PM, I received the email notification that I had won. I arrived at the Box Office one hour prior to the show to pick up my ticket. Tickets were $39 each. As usual with TodayTix, I was in the second to last row of the top tier of the theater. It’s been rare in my experience that TodayTix has access to prime seating locations.

PRODUCTION REVIEW

This play was extremely well cast, with particular standouts being Adam Driver as the intimidating, often intoxicated, Pale, and Brandon Uranowitz as the hilariously flamboyant Larry. Keri Russell and David Furr also gave great performances, but their characters are not as bold, so my investment in their storylines fell somewhat to the wayside in comparison. As consequence, I was not really a fan of the main love story component of the plot. I definitely laughed throughout the show as the comedic timing was impeccable, however, with a two hour and thirty minute running time, the play did feel long. Part of this could be attributed to the fact that the production started half an hour late due to the opening night celebration.

STAGE DOOR EXPERIENCE

Since I attended the performance during the opening night celebration, I did not attempt to stage door as there were so many celebrities in attendance that the likelihood of the cast interacting with audience members was slim to none. I later learned that the cast did not come out, which is not surprising. However, the cast does usually come out through the stage door and interact with audience members when there is not a special event going on.

STAGE DOOR LOCATION

Even though the main entrance to the theater is on 44th St, the stage door is on 45th St. Exit the theater onto 7th Ave, and make three consecutive right turns onto 45th St. The stage door will be half a block uptown towards 6th Ave.
